There could be a number of reasons for the sudden spike in your bill. You may have an over-flowing safety valve from your hot water system, there could be a leak in your hot water system, taps and toilets or, in extreme cases, there could be a broken water line outside. Our experienced plumbers can come and inspect your property using the latest CCTV camera equipment to determine the cause of your leak. Depending on the severity of the problem, we will arrange repairs or carry out the service on the spot.

Most bathroom drain clogs are the result of dirt, soap, skin flakes and hair getting stuck in the walls of drain pipes. These agents combine to create a gunk that can make it difficult for water to flow freely through the pipe. Drains can also be clogged by flushing napkins and other foreign objects down the toilet. Our team offers a range of drainage solutions for blockages and uses specialised equipment to determine the cause of your issue.

A gas leak is a serious matter that can cause safety and health issues. For this reason, they should be attended to immediately. When you suspect a leak, you’ll need to:

  • Turn off the gas at your meter or cylinder
  • Shut down any gas appliances
  • Open doors and windows to ventilate the area
  • Extinguish any naked flames or cigarettes

Once you have done these four steps contact Jake’s Plumbing to attend for repair.

Burst pipes can happen at any time, but it is important to turn off your water supply at the mains as soon as you detect a problem. The mains water supply switch will usually be at the front of your home and can be accessed by removing the cover and turning the tap or nozzle to off.

Low water pressure can be caused by simple problems such as the shut off valve being partially closed, or the faucet being blocked, but the leading cause is clogged pipes and water leaks. There can also be issues relating to your irrigation system. If you notice your water bill has increased significantly, call our team to conduct an inspection.

We recommend servicing your gas appliances every two to three years. This is due to the high risk that potential problems can cause. Even small defects sustained to gas pipes, fittings and bayonets can lead to large issues.
